"Follow me"

People often ask why we do this work, especially in regards to the politics, security, and diplomatic tensions in and around the Korean Peninsula. Our response is simple: insofar as we are able, as followers of Jesus, we are compelled by grace and motivated by love to obey His command to feed the hungry and heal the sick (Matthew 25:31-46). We have a unique opportunity to act upon our calling by ministering to those suffering in the DPRK.

“나를 따르라”
사람들은 저희에게 종종 묻습니다.  특히 정치적, 안보적, 외교적 긴장이 감도는 한반도 지역에서 왜 이런 일을 계속하느냐고 말입니다. 우리의 대답은 간단합니다. 우리는 예수님을 따르는 자로서, 은혜에 이끌리고 사랑으로 동기 부여되어 주린 이들에게 먹을 것을 주고 병든 자를 고치라는 그분의 명령(마태복음 25장 31–46절)에 순종하고자 합니다. 감사하게도, 우리는 고통받는 북한 주민들에게 섬김의 손길을 내밀 수 있는 특별한 기회를 허락 받았습니다.

The closure of North Korea’s borders in January 2020 deepens uncertainty regarding if and when we might resume humanitarian engagement there. We seek to remain ready to re-engage in North Korea whenever it becomes possible to do so. We are also exploring ways we can engage in Mongolia, a country that also suffers from high rates of tuberculosis and hepatitis.

2020년 1월 북한의 국경이 폐쇄되면서, 우리가 그곳에서 인도적 지원 활동을 다시 시작할 수 있을지, 또 언제 가능할지에 대한 불확실성이 더욱 커졌습니다. 그러나 우리는 북한에서 다시 사역할 수 있는 때가 오면 즉시 대응할 수 있도록 준비된 자세를 유지하고자 합니다. 또한 결핵과 간염의 높은 유병률로 고통받고 있는 몽골에서도 어떻게 사역을 이어갈 수 있을지 다양한 가능성을 모색하고 있습니다.

We hope to resume efforts in North Korea whenever it is possible to effectively and legally respond to needs with compassion, integrity, accountability, and transparency. Time after time, we have witnessed real change in hearts and minds as love, truth, patience, selflessness, wisdom, and compassion are shared. We ask you to partner with us as we seek to serve our Savior and follow His great example in meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters in north Korea and Mongolia, for the glory of God.

우리는 북한의 필요에 효과적이고 합법적으로, 그리고 긍휼히 여기는 마음과 진실성, 책임감, 투명성을 가지고 응답할 수 있는 날이 오기를 소망하며 가능한 때 언제든 사역을 재개하고자 합니다.
우리는 수차례에 걸쳐, 사랑과 진리, 인내와 이타심, 지혜와 긍휼이 나눠질 때 사람들의 마음과 생각이 실제로 변화되는 것을 목격해왔습니다. 우리는 하나님께 영광을 돌리기 위해, 구주를 섬기고 그분의 본을 따라 북한과 몽골에 있는 우리의 형제자매들의 필요를 채우기 위한 사역에 여러분이 동참해주시기를 간절히 요청드립니다.
